Anacrhronism
Definition[edit | edit source]
- in history, attributing to an historical period a characteristic or concept that did not exist during that historical time
- ex. Viking horned helmets
- horned helmets on Vikings was an invention of a German director of a Wagnerian opera, who staged the Vikings depicted in it wearing horned helmets
