Perambulation / Perambulate

dictionary definition: to walk or travel through or around a place or area, especially for pleasure and in a leisurely way

  • "she perambulated the park"
  • "lost and tired, he perambulated across unfamiliar territory"

In the learning process, perambulation is a condition in which a student's mind "perambulates" or "goes in circles" around a thought or topic

  • in a state of perambulation
    • the student will get "stuck"
    • and not be able to communicate his/her thoughts
    • or not be able to advance the thought or connect it to another

Perambulation may be present in students with certain learning disabilities such as extreme Attention Deficit or Autism.
